What does a Precinct Committee Person do?
Vacancy Appointments: When an elected official vacates their position before their term is up, such as due to resignation, death, or other reasons, the replacement process involves an appointment. In many cases PCPs, and only PCPs, elect the replacement
Party Nominations: If the party is responsible for selecting a replacement candidate to run in a special election, PCPs may have a vote in the nomination process
Vote on Party Matters: PCP’s get to vote on important party business like supporting resolutions, allocating funding, and being involved in the decision making process on major projects
Organizing: Organize and attend local Democratic Party meetings and events, helping to shape the party's policies and platforms.
Information Sharing: Disseminate information about Democratic candidates, initiatives, and events to voters in your precinct.
Precinct Leadership: Serve as a leader in your precinct, representing its interests within the Democratic Party structure
